Why Specify Polycarbonate for Windows?
Where a window has to survive impact, vibration, vandalism or a storm, polycarbonate is specified over glass and acrylic. It takes roughly 200 times the impact of glass without shattering, weighs about half as much, and can be cold-formed to curved glazing. A co-extruded UV layer keeps it clear outdoors for years.

Are polycarbonate windows better than glass?
For impact, safety and weight, yes — polycarbonate resists roughly 200× the impact of glass and will not shatter into sharp fragments. Glass still wins on surface hardness, which is why we offer hard-coated grades for abrasion-exposed windows.
Do polycarbonate windows scratch easily?
Uncoated polycarbonate is softer than glass, so for vehicle and public-facing windows we recommend a hard (abrasion-resistant) coating that greatly improves scratch and chemical resistance.
Can you cut windows to custom sizes and shapes?
Yes. We CNC-cut, drill and cold-form window panels to your drawing, with polished or sealed edges. Send a cutting list or DXF and we quote finished panels, not just sheet.
Are polycarbonate windows good for hurricanes and storms?
Polycarbonate storm windows resist wind-borne debris impact and are light enough for quick install and removal, which makes them a common choice for hurricane protection panels.
What thickness of polycarbonate for a window?
3–6 mm covers most vehicle and storm windows; machine guards use 4–8 mm; security and anti-vandal windows use 8–12 mm or laminated build-ups. Span and threat level decide — send both for a recommendation.
