How to Verify a Polycarbonate Sheet Manufacturer Before Bulk Orders

B2B procurement guide

How to Verify a Polycarbonate Sheet Manufacturer Before Bulk Orders

A low sheet price is not enough for distributors, contractors, OEM buyers or building-material importers. Before placing a bulk polycarbonate sheet order, verify whether the supplier can actually control production, inspection, packing and export support.

1. Confirm manufacturer identity

Start with basic manufacturer evidence: company name, factory address, production base photos, extrusion line information, product scope and contact consistency. A trading company can still be useful, but a buyer should know whether the quote comes from a factory, a sourcing office or a reseller.

For Bakway background, review the polycarbonate sheet factory page and the polycarbonate sheet manufacturer page.

2. Check product range against your application

A serious supplier should explain the difference between solid sheets, multiwall sheets, corrugated roofing sheets, hard-coated sheets, anti-fog sheets, ESD sheets and fire-rated sheets. If the answer is only a general price list, the supplier may not be ready for project supply.

Buyer typeWhat to verify
DistributorRegular sizes, color mix, packing, labeling and stable repeat supply.
Roofing contractorProfile, UV side, span or support spacing, accessories and weather exposure.
OEM or industrial buyerDrawings, tolerance, CNC cutting, drilling, bending, coating and batch inspection.

3. Ask for production and inspection details

Before confirming a bulk order, ask how thickness tolerance, UV co-extrusion, color consistency, surface protection and packing are controlled. For custom orders, drawings and tolerances should be reviewed before price confirmation.

  • Extrusion line and sheet type available for your order.
  • Thickness, width, length and color tolerance.
  • UV layer, coating or special function confirmation.
  • Inspection method, batch records and packing photos.
  • Export packing, loading method and document support.

4. Separate manufacturer, supplier and distributor questions

A manufacturer question focuses on production control. A supplier question focuses on product selection, project response and delivery. A distributor question focuses on repeat supply, SKU planning and market support. Good procurement checks all three instead of treating every quote as the same.
