Hard-Coated Polycarbonate Sheets Price Guide 2026 (FOB China)
Factory-direct hard-coated polycarbonate from $12/m², FOB Shanghai. Bakway applies flow-coated abrasion-resistant hard coating in-house, delivering scratch resistance comparable to SABIC Lexan MR5E at roughly half the price.

Benchmark prices FOB Shanghai, 2026 H2, based on current resin market. Final quote depends on thickness, color, coating grade, quantity and destination port. Coating options: standard abrasion-resistant (adds ~¥20–30/m² equivalent) and extra-durable flow coating for high-traffic glazing.
What a typical order looks like
A 40HQ container of 3 mm hard-coated sheets (approx. 900–1,000 sheets) lands in the $28,000–$38,000 range FOB — about half what the same quantity of Lexan MR5E would cost. For ESD, flame-retardant or colored hard-coated boards, ask for a tailored quote.
Where hard-coated polycarbonate pays for itself
- Machine guards & safety glazing — cleaning wipes won’t haze the surface
- Public transport & station glazing — graffiti and scratch resistance
- Retail display & POS — stays clear under constant handling
- Agricultural machinery cabs — UV + abrasion in one sheet
Hard-Coated Polycarbonate FAQ
Is Bakway hard-coated polycarbonate as scratch-resistant as Lexan MR5E?
Yes, in practical terms. Our flow-coated hard coat passes the same Taber abrasion and steel-wool tests used for MR5E applications, at roughly half the MR5E price. We can provide test reports before you order.
What is the difference between flow coating and MR5E?
MR5E is SABIC’s factory-applied coating brand. Flow coating is our in-house equivalent process: the same silicone-based hard coat is applied and cured on the sheet surface. The performance is comparable; the price is not.
Can hard-coated sheets be cut, drilled or CNC-machined?
Yes. We cut, route and drill before or after coating depending on your design. Edges can be polished; coated surface keeps its hardness after machining.
What is the MOQ for hard-coated sheets?
Standard MOQ is one pallet (typically 50–100 sheets depending on thickness). Mixed thicknesses and colors in one order are welcome.
Do you provide samples before bulk orders?
Yes. A4 or 300×300 mm samples of coated and uncoated sheets are available by courier. Compare the scratch resistance yourself.
